To adapt the lenght of the snow conveyor belt to burial depth and slope angle is critical to avoid time consuming problems during the excavation. Once the excavation has started, it is difficult and time consuming to correct initial mistakes, in particular when the initial lenght of the snow conveyor belt is too short and thus the ramp angle of the snow conveyor belt quickly becomes steeper than 27°, leading to the snow to constantly falling back towards the probe.
